The “Perfume Island”

Nosy Be is a small island in the north-west of Madagascar and the most visited of the Madagascar islands.

It is of volcanic origin and disposes of an extraordinary nature.
Le climate is tropical with high temperatures all year round. There are about 340 sunny days in a year, allowing a delightful living.

The waters around Nosy Be

From September to end of December humpback whales are coming to the island’s surrounding waters for feeding and to give birth. You may go out to encounter these giants of the ocean with a special daytrip for their observation.
Other excursions are offered to go diving with whale sharks which are numerous in the region and attracting more and more visitors coming to observe them.

Back on Nosy Be, you can also visit the holy tree, the cascade, the Mont Passot summit overlooking the crater lakes around and the entire island, the nature reserve of Lokobe with its genuine primary forest, the animal park “Lemurialand” where you can observe various lemurs coming from diverse regions of Madagascar and also giant turtles, snakes and crocodiles. In this park there is also an Ylang-Ylang distillery open for visits.

You can rent cars, motorcycles, scooters, or Jet Ski for your explorations, make scuba diving or excursions to neighbouring islands and even have a trip for whale and whale-shark observation during the appropriate season.

The village includes a small market place selling local fresh products and a supermarket.
